I have used this trap for years with perfect results; I currently own 8 of them. They are so effective, they often trap a gopher at the first trap while I’m setting a second trap. Easy to set and so reliable that my cat sits and watches the trap! I clear the property each Spring with a few traps, usually killing 20 or so gophers; then plant the garden. Occasionally get a gopher or two during the growing season, but they are quickly eliminated with a couple of traps. Rarely suffer any significant damage as long as I keep a wary eye on things. Only negative, and it’s minor, is that the spring will corrode and eventually fail (after several years). This can be avoided by oiling regularly with WD40, which the gophers seem to be attracted to unlike some other oils that may repel them.
