Choosing Landscaping Companies
In order to get the best deal when shopping for landscaping companies, you need to make many considerations and compare companies. You want to shop around so that you have an idea what your options are and you are able to make an informed decision. There are many different points that you will want to consider about each company.
Basic Skills
Above all else you will want to make sure that landscaping companies have the necessary basic skills. You should always check their education and experience to see if they have the skills needed to do the landscaping job that you need.
If you are expecting to have very specific or extensive landscaping work done then you need to make sure that the landscaping company has the skills to do such a job. If the company has only had prior experience with simple flower beds or other simple jobs, then something complex may be beyond their abilities.
Reputation
Another thing that you will want to check is the company’s reputation. If you can, talk to previous customers and get a feel for how the company works. You may even want to try find references through friends for landscaping companies that they have used.
A company with a good reputation will be more likely to do a good job and give you a good value. You will probably not run into problems such as them leaving the job unfinished. You will be more likely to end up a final result that you love.
Prior Work
While checking references you should also take a look at prior work they have done. It really doesn’t matter if they say they can do a job, as much as actually seeing that they have completed a similar project before. Seeing the company’s prior work will allow you to get a feel for how they do things and the type of landscaping they are good at doing.
This will allow you to see if the company will be able to handle your job. Plus it will allow you to get an idea of the quality of the work that the company does. You may even find some ideas from their prior work that you would like to be incorporated into your landscaping. Overall, though, looking at prior jobs that the company has done will give you a feel for the quality of work that they do.
Shopping Around
Once you have decided to start looking at landscaping companies you will want to gather information on a few different companies. This will allow you to shop around and find the right company. You can compare the companies and choose the one that seems to be the best fit for your needs.
Shopping around will also allow you to find a company that can work within you budget. However, you should always check out the company completely and never sacrifice quality for cost. You want a good value and that may not always be the cheapest company. A good value means that you get what you paid for and that you feel it was money well spent.

Tuscan-style Landscaping Ideas For Southwest?

I hear a lot of references in Arizona to "Tuscan style" landscaping and like the idea. By this I mean clusters of colorful cacti, bushes and trees with a small fountain and rock benches, as opposed to plants being sparsely placed like you so often see with desert homes. Having trouble finding websites with examples of this, or any books dealing with the subject. Am I using the wrong term? No, it's not Tucson, it's Tuscan, as in arid Italian-style landscaping.
